To begin a design an architect must first develop design parameters and rules. This is particularly important for large renovation or redevelopment projects. This raises the question which aspects are worth preserving for the functionality of the building, for their spatial qualities, or which parts of a floor plan are flexible in size or location. The approach is that the user can enter and edit data in order to outline these main parameters and check it to get a rough idea of design possibilities.

First the original condition of a building is entered in Gephi. On this basis, areas can be distinguished in which the architect engages, or not. In Rhino these elements can be visualized abstractly, for example as circles of the appropriate size. Furthermore, the flexible portions of a certain façade (cardinal points) or other associated spaces may be attracted or repelled.
